Job Summary

Our goal is to enhance the complaints system to build trust and confidence in policing through a transformation program. We aim to provide cost-effective services by swiftly adapting due to decreasing confidence levels (public and police) and limited resources.

The main aim of this position is to lead and oversee significant and complex changes across the IOPC, swiftly enhancing efficiency, performance, and outcomes for users.

Offer strategic guidance and leadership to implement a new operational model for the IOPC to fulfill its statutory duties and bold strategic objectives. Cultivate a culture that optimizes the available resources within the IOPC.

Collaborate with the management board (MB) to ensure cohesive delivery of change and transformation, meeting objectives such as efficiencies and savings outlined in our financial plan.

The role involves guiding our transformation program focused on modernizing service delivery, practices, and processes.

Direct the Business Development team to ensure alignment of the transformation program with the broader organization, corporate strategy, and that business planning activities are synchronized with the transformation program.

Establish strong relationships with senior leaders, the Unitary Board, external stakeholders, and engage with all staff proactively.

Person Specification

We are seeking an experienced transformation professional with a solid track record of delivering rapid change and ensuring sustainable new ways of working. Proficiency in transformation methodologies and simplifying practices is essential. You should also have:

  • Experience at a senior level in complex environments managing multiple transformation projects with varied stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading large-scale transformational change and effectively communicating a compelling vision of change to staff.
  • Experience in translating strategy into action through plans, programs, people, and culture.
  • Proven ability to align financial resources with human resources, ICT, and assets to achieve strategic outcomes.
