Castle Education are seeking to recruit an English Teacher (SEN) who is experienced and passionate about working with students that additional learning needs.

This role is part-time and would be to start later this month in the Ripon area. The role willbe paying around £150 a day.

The role of English Teacher (SEN) will involve small class delivery with relevant support staff. You will be required to deliver differentiated learning to meet the needs of the students. You would also be required to incorporate hobbies and interest tomaximise inclusion and progress.


This role of English Teacher (SEN) will provide a challenging but rewarding environment to be creative and motivational as a practitioner.

This is a great experience where you can make a real difference to students with an EHCP.


The role requires delivery in accordance with the relevant qualification specification and will include Entry Level to Level 1 in Functional Skills and GCSE at Level 2 and there are processes in place allow for students to access key support as and whenrequired and this could include accessing time out/sensory/resource spaces but then students will be re-integrated into the lesson.

The college is really invested in Maslow's Humanist Theory and it is used to underpin all teaching and learning practices.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of teaching and assessment in both Functional Skills and GCSE English.
  • Experience of delivery within SEN
  • An enhanced DBS ideally on the update service
