Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. We help people find work and access training and volunteering opportunities.

About this role
We are looking for two Support Workers to join the Greenwich Housing First or Greenwich Navigator team.
Thames Reach's Supported Housing is comprised of Accommodation, Housing First, Navigator and Move on services supporting people to make real and lasting change in their lives.
Accommodation-based services: Using a strength-based casework approach to support people to make plans to gain the emotional and practical skills and increased independence to enable successful move on.
Housing First services:
Using the established principles of Housing First we work with people to access accommodation first, explore their aspirations, building opportunities for them to spend their time meaningfully and overcome barriers around unmet mental or physical health needs.
Navigator and Move On services:
Provide holistic floating support to clients at different stages of their homelessness journey helping them navigate and access systems and services with the ultimate aim of securing accommodation in the community and prevent future homelessness.
You will:
- Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with individuals that have a history of rough sleeping or insecure housing.
- Support individuals to move into their own, independent accommodation, and to make it a home. You will work closely with landlords and housing providers to help individuals to understand and sustain their tenancies
- Work in partnership with key agencies, supporting individuals to access support services, community resources, and to feel a part of their local community
- Empower individuals take an active role in developing their own personalised support plans, and motivating them to achieve their goals and aspirations
- Develop a detailed understanding of the Housing First model this is a great opportunity to gain an indepth knowledge of this innovative and exciting new model of housing which is currently growing in popularity in the UK
