As such it is important that a Hazardous Waste Chemist operates in a safe and responsible manner, has a good understanding of waste legislation and compliance, and is capable of building strong working relationships with clients.

What you'll be doing;Building a strong working relationship with the client and assisting them with the services Veolia provide, being the daily presence on site they requireInventorying, booking and preparing waste shipments for transport and disposalAssessing hazardous waste including listing, labelling and packing of chemicalsStock management of supplies such as labels, tags and packagingEnsuring all paperwork is raised, updated and filed appropriatelyWorking towards more in depth and granular data collection of waste interactions on siteAssisting with on site waste generation and storage, likely to include consolidation of solvents, ensuring commercial waste (plastics, cardboard, etc) is segregatedproperly and assisting with cleaning up spills/leaksGEMBA safety site inspectionsCompiling and generating reports to provide accurate and in depth information on how the site is functioningWhat we're looking for;A science based HND or equivalent ideally in ChemistryKnowledge and/or experience in the hazardous waste industryCOSHH and health and safety understandingSome administration experience/background is preferredAs the role is split between locations, candidates must hold a valid driving licenceWhat's next?Apply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.
