The Team

Within this dynamic, customer-centric organisation reacting to a fast-moving digital environment, the Customer Analytics team plays a pivotal role in driving the success of the FT, helping to shape all areas of our multichannel strategy.

Over the past 10 years, the Analytics team has established itself as an independent source of truth and strategic advice for the whole business, providing actionable insight to a variety of digital stakeholders across the business (i.e. Marketing, Product, Editorial, Sales, Senior Management Group).

The Role

The Experimentation Analyst will join the Experimentation & Optimisation team, a key component of the central team within Insight & Analytics. The scope of this role is company-wide, supporting our mission to share knowledge and best practices about running experiments as well as performing crucial analyses.

The Analyst is responsible for supporting the Experimentation & Optimisation team in all aspects of what it does, with a primary focus on the analysis of tests and insight sharing as well as offering support to teams who are running and analysing their own tests.

At the FT, several different experimentation tools operate concurrently, so a flexibility and willingness to learn is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide test analysis and test support to stakeholders across the business.
  • Support embedded analysts in conducting tests on the ground.
  • Be the primary contact for testing BAU questions.
  • Assist teams with pre-test metric evaluations, post-test analyses and documentation.
  • Help to establish best practices, and maintain consistency in experiment reporting.
  • Advocate for an experimentation culture, recommend FT's experimentation goals, and collaborate with L&D.
  • Help the team keep track of the multiple work streams and tests.

You'll bring to the role...

Essential

  • 2+ years of Analyst experience
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with A/B testing / Experimentation -
  • Strong statistical background
  • Enjoy working with stakeholders
  • An ability to understand the commercial imperatives behind requests and design A/B tests with those in mind
  • Exposure to working with a wide variety of data sets and data tools
  • Ability to present and communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to senior stakeholders
  • University degree attainment in Mathematics / Management / Business / Psychology / Computer Science / Statistics / Economics / or similar numerate discipline

Desirable

  • Experience with Optimizely, Amplitude Experiment or similar tools
  • Have a passion for data visualisation & familiarity with visual techniques
  • An interest in current affairs
