Job summary

The role involves delivering occupational-based therapeutic activity interventions to support the Recovery and rehabilitation of Male Learning Disability service users at the Broadland Clinic. You will collaborate with the OT lead Team and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team, offering interventions on a group or individual basis. Expect to work weekends and some early evenings. All interventions will be supervised by an Occupational Therapist. Ensure compliance with Trusts' guidelines and policies.

Main duties of the job

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, assistants, education staff, and an experienced MDT, including Medical, Nursing, SLT, Psychology, and Social Work colleagues. The Broadland Clinic provides care for adult men at risk of offending, part of an NHS trust, HPFT, currently rated 'Outstanding' by CQC. Patient involvement is central to our mission.

Job responsibilities

  • To lead occupationally based groups as directed by an Occupational Therapist.
  • To work one-on-one with service users on specific tasks and therapeutic activities designated by an Occupational Therapist.
  • To foster a culture of meaningful occupation within the service to enrich quality of life.
  • To deliver interventions in alignment with Trust standards and values.
  • To provide feedback to the team on observed occupational performance during sessions for assessment and interventions.
  • To maintain clinical records using the electronic patient record system.
  • To communicate with carers and other professionals as necessary.
  • To demonstrate effective time management, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
  • To participate in mandatory training and other relevant activities to meet training objectives.
  • To document training and development activities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above or equivalent

Desirable

  • Health and Social Care NVQ level 3

Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of Occupational Therapy
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and associated tools
