HCRG Staffing are looking for a Occupational Therapist (OT) to work in Brentwood, Essex. This is to work in an independent care home registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The purpose of this role is to provide direct Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and management of residents residing at the MNCC. To work as part of the Occupational Therapy team managing caseloads and assessing the needs of residents with complex acquired neurological conditions and physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work and participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team engaging in team discussion and the decision-making process with regards to resident care, rehabilitation pathways and care plans.
  • To ensure a safe, timely, and smooth transitional approach to discharge planning for intermediate care, and slow stream rehabilitation residents.
  • To work alongside our Occupational Therapy Lead in the provision of assessments and the development, implementation and evaluation of care pathways for our residents.
  • To provide specialist advice, equipment, intervention and occupation to maximise a residents' function and quality of life.
  • To contribute to the decision making about occupational therapy strategies in liaison with other therapists for residents with complex physical and sensory disabilities, seeking specific/ specialist advice when appropriate.
  • To ensure the delivery in continuity and effectiveness of service by providing regularly reviewed treatment plans, accessible to all staff involved in the care of an individual.
  • To communicate effectively with residents, family members and all care staff (internal and external) involved in an individual's care.

Essential Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • HCPC Registered
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualified experience
  • Great communication skills

This is to cover maternity leave, so can either be offered on a fixed term contract or locum basis for 6-9 months, with a possibility of extension. Full time hours ideal, part time may be considered.

Excellent pay rate which can be negotiated.
