Based in Heywood, North Manchester, our client is Global Logistics company that are seeking a Transport Coordinator to join their Central Transport team.

This is a temporary role initially that is expected to last for 3 months (potentially longer). The working shift pattern will be 1900 to 0700 hours on a 4 on, 4 off night shift.

THE JOB:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring the group transport delivery schedule
  • Monitoring subcontractors
  • Dealing with the transport end of shift handover for the fleet
  • Liaising with other depots and delivery points
  • Assigning driver and fleet using the transport planning system
  • DEbriefing drivers
  • Booking agency drivers
  • Dealing with delivery rejections, damages or wrong product
  • Creating goods return notification (GRRS) for all delivery issues
  • Dealing with vehicle and trailer breakdowns
  • Allocating stock
  • Creating a UN invoice job report
  • Central tracking (monitoring drivers)
  • DEbriefing drivers
  • Diary departure management
  • Scanning, indexing, and filing
  • Invoicing and status reports
  • Day to day activity management

THE PERSON
Previous Transport experience is essential. As a target-focused team player, you'll need to be comfortable meeting tight deadlines and keen to get things done. Good IT skills are essential. Excel, Word, and Outlook are particularly important.

Above all else, you'll share the company determination to keep their customers and colleagues happy, so a can-do attitude with brilliant communication and organisation skills is essential.
