An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive band 8a senior cancer pharmacist with previous cancer services experience to work as part of the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) clinical pharmacy team. The post holder will lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service to oncology patients treated in the SACT day unit and satellite units.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as innovative ideas on improving service delivery and patient care.

To lead the clinical pharmacy service to TYA and adult oncology patients attending the Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Day Unit in BHOC and the satellite treatment areas at North Bristol (Concord) and South Bristol Community Hospital. To optimise medicines use by counselling oncology patients and their carers on medication and to work as a non-medical prescriber (NMP) on the day unit to support timely prescribing of supportive care medicines for patients. To provide highly specialist advice and education to the day unit nursing team to meet high standards of patient care and safety. Clinical screening of prescriptions generated in SACT pre-assessment clinics and other outpatient clinics, including clinical trial prescriptions ensuring efficient supply of medication to patients and improving patient's experience.
