The Opportunity

The Role

As the successful Finance Business Partner, you will:

  • Lead Financial Review meetings with the Directors, Heads of Functions and project leads to identify, investigate & mitigate risks, issues and opportunities, agree interventions and management action to manage performance.
  • Support Financial Review meetings by ensuring that financial information provided is accurate, up to date and insightful and that financial issues, risk and opportunities are appropriately addressed.
  • Be a strategic partner to the Business supporting with relevant analyses and integration into the Annual Liabilities Report 2 (ALR2).
  • Ensure alignment and compliance to all procedure and processes in relation to all qualifying costs within the ALR2 are adhered to.
  • Manage the financial performance, providing advice and recommendations to ensure that the annual plan is adhered to.
  • Ensure that cost targets are strictly adhered to and that a culture of cost consciousness and accountability is present throughout the organisation.
  • Produce monthly reports describing the financial variances from plan and the impact on the financial forecast for the full year
  • Monitor financial KPIs, scorecards and set performance target in alignment to strategy and plans
  • Support change initiatives across the Finance organisation, encouraging exemplary ways of working when partnering, supporting and challenging. Seeking process improvements and promoting best practice.

The Skills


You will be a qualified accountant with one of the recognised UK Professional Organisations (or working towards a qualification), and ideally have previous Business Partnering experience, this will include managing internal and external relationships and having the ability to support, compromise and negotiate when needed.


You will be broad-minded and have the ability to consider a full range of factors that will ultimately impact the Business decisions and ultimately you will need to be an excellent decision maker and have astute numerical and analytical skills.
