Job Summary

We are currently seeking two dedicated Kitchen Porters to join our team, initially this will be on a six month fixed term basis with the view to making the roles permanent.

The Kitchen Porters will be joining the cafe at an exciting time, a refurbishment including a recently installed new kitchen area means a fresh start for the cafe that raises vital funds for the charity Horses and Ponies Protection Association.

The role involves supporting the chefs ensuring a clean and orderly kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Keeping all Back of House areas clean and tidy
  • Washing all pots/pans and equipment to highest standards
  • Making sure that cleaning standards are always upheld
  • Following health and safety protocol
  • Assisting the chef team with basic kitchen preparations
  • Putting away deliveries correctly
  • Helping Front of House team with glass washing and cutlery polishing
  • Any other task deemed reasonable by the duty manager/supervisor
  • Respecting the HAPPA brand

Qualifications and education requirements
GCSE's or equivalent

Preferred skills

  • Good communications skills
  • Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality
  • Work well under pressure
  • Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
  • High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Good organisational skills to maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen
  • Willingness to learn and help with various kitchen duties
  • Strong teamwork skills to support kitchen staff effectively
Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting desirable but not essential.
