At Rebellion, we've been at the forefront of creating outstanding video games for over 30 years across multiple studios around the UK. However, our scope expands beyond games as we have our own film and mo-cap studio, create board games, publish books, and produce iconic comics like Judge Dredd through 2000AD.

We operate from various UK locations including Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield, and emphasize maintaining a healthy work-life balance for all our employees, allowing for flexible and hybrid work options.

Currently, we are looking to hire a seasoned Senior Online Developer to join our tech team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in JavaScript to help develop and maintain internal and external web APIs supporting our game engine team. You will be an integral part of the software development lifecycle, from initial requirements to deployment and ongoing maintenance.

We are seeking an individual with strong experience in building efficient backend APIs and maximizing the usage of third-party services, supporting our game teams by deploying new tools and creating internal applications.

  • Design, build, and deploy web applications to assist our in-house engine team
  • Support application deployments
  • Proficient in NodeJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  • Experience with front-end frameworks like Vue and React
  • Familiarity with databases including MySQL and NoSQL
  • Knowledge of cloud environments like AWS or similar
  • Skilled in software development tools and version control systems like Git or Perforce
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies swiftly
  • Experience in maintaining applications in other languages (e.g., PHP) is a plus
  • Bonus: Proficiency in writing serverless functions using AWS Lambda or Azure Functions
