Autism Teaching Assistant

Location: Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire

Salary: £95 to £110 per day

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Status: Full Time, Part Time

About the Role:

GSL Education is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Autism Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic schools in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Job Summary

  • Adapt classroom materials and instructions to make them accessible for students.
  • Assist students with tasks, understanding instructions, and staying focused.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child's progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Help plan and deliver engaging, personalized learning activities.
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in social skills and behavior management.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce learning goals.
  • Assist in creating a structured classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor student progress.
  • Provide feedback on student progress and areas needing improvement.
  • Participate in training related to autism support.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Prior experience with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support.
  • Qualities like patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Understanding of autism interventions and strategies.

Note: This role requires a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful candidates must pass background checks, including an enhanced DBS.
