Autism TA

Location: Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire

Salary Scale: £95 to £110 a day

Start Date: ASAP

Status: Full Time, Part Time

About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Autism TA to join our vibrant schools in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire.

Job summary

  • Modify classroom materials and instructions to make them accessible and understandable for the student.
  • Assist students with completing tasks, understanding instructions, and staying focused during lessons.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging, individualized learning activities.
  • Support students with ASD in developing social skills and managing behaviour.
  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Help to create a structured and predictable classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor and support student progress.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and areas of need.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to autism support.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of autism and related interventions and strategies.
