An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be a part of our dynamic Physiotherapy service at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a band 5 role based at North Tees Hospital, Stockton on Tees.

The post holder will perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis, develop, and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

They will evaluatepatient progress, re-assess, and alter treatment programmes if required.

They will also work across multiple wards mainly specialising within elderly care maintaining a clinical caseload across these areas.

They will hold responsibility for their own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particularpatient type, working without direct supervision.

Assessing and devising treatment programmes and supporting discharge plans individualised to patient's needs whilst working within existing hospital discharge pathways.


The postholder will liaise and communicate with all members of the multidisciplinary team and outside agencies when appropriate and represent physiotherapy service and or individual patients at the multidisciplinary team meeting.

To include discussion ofpatient care, progress, and involvement in discharge planning and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

This could include elements of supporting and educating the performance of physiotherapy students as well as delegatingto and providing support to non-qualified staffs (STA's).


Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development.
  • Supervise other Physiotherapists, students, and assistants/technicians as and when required.
  • To delegate tasks appropriately to other therapists, assistants, and technicians.
  • To evaluate own work and current practices together with Senior Physiotherapists.
  • Be an active member of inservice training programme by attendance at or participation in, inservice training programmes, tutorials, individual training sessions, staff meetings extended courses and peer reviews.
  • Indate HCPC registration
  • Diploma/ Degree in Physiotherapy State Registration
  • Experience of working as part of a Physiotherapy / multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in portfolio format
  • Computer literate
  • Driving licence _(desirable)_
  • Involvement in audit/ research/ quality initiatives _(desirable)_
  • Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy _(desirable)_
