We are constructing a state-of-the-art underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite - a unique multi-nutrient fertiliser - along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing, and distribution.

POLY4 is our flagship multi-nutrient fertiliser product. Made from polyhalite, it contains four of the six macro-nutrients and many micronutrients that are essential to plant growth. It allows farmers to maximise their crop yield, increase quality and improve soil structure with one simple product.

Job Description:

  • Join us as an Emergency Response Assurance Specialist where you will assure that emergency response arrangements are industry leading, robust and effective emergency response and mines rescue arrangements that align with both Anglo American global standards and the Mines Regulations 2014.

Your duties will include:

  • Assure that Mines Rescue / emergency response resources are sufficient to ensure an effective response to any emergency across the project that complies with legislation and Anglo American global standards.
  • Coordinate all MRT training and ensure records are kept.
  • Carry out line 2 audit program that assures all escape and rescue activities across the project, comply with regulatory (SPI's) and global standard (Critical Control) compliance.
  • Ensure all emergency response personnel maintain competency in line with National Occupational Standards.
  • Ensure sufficient effective MRT/emergency response teams are available to always respond across the project.
  • Assure contractors emergency response training and exercises.
  • Take lead role during all HMI interventions, gathering relevant evidence and required information relating to escape and rescue interventions.
  • Assure contractors compliance with Mines Rescue Standard for the project.
  • Take lead role during line 3 audits.
  • Support Emergency Response Manager in creating yearly exercise schedule that ensures risk assessed worst case credible scenarios have been identified and relevant exercises carried out and recorded.
  • Identify and implement improvements across the project in emergency response arrangements.
  • Support Emergency Response Manager to ensure emergency response arrangements are industry leading and fully compliant with legislation and AA standards.
**Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience required**:
  • Extensive experience in Emergency Response and assurance.
  • Relevant qualifications in assessing and training.
  • Knowledge, understanding and training in incident management.
  • Experience of fire safety and evacuation protocols.
  • Understanding of confined space, gas testing equipment, SCBA use, isolation, hot work procedures, hazardous chemicals, Fire response, vehicle extrication, high angle, and confined space rescue.
  • Extensive experience of successfully handling incidents ('incident command').
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety and environmental standards relating to legislation.
  • Demonstrable capability towards problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse workforce.
  • A handson approach, able to work well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet project needs.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines/organisations and to communicate clearly.
  • Enthusiasm in the working environment and a "can do" approach in all endeavours.
  • Desire to learn and be mentored.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
