Due to growth in service, Care First are recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to join the team and truly make a difference.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will Working for the Hub Manager and Deputy Hub Manager you will provide learning and development opportunities to young adults 16-25 and older adults 25+ who may have physical disabilities, personal care needs, profound and multiple learning Disabilities, autism and moderate learning disabilities.


As part of a team, you will assist in supporting learning through practical activities such as gardening, cookery, arts & crafts and community visits.

You will work as part of a growing team of Learner Support Assistants within an exciting expansion programme. As part of your role, you will be required to provide support with personal care needs e.g.

toileting support and may be required to escort students by taxi (this would be discussed further should an interview be given).

Who we are looking for


Experience working with complex needs is preferable, but if you are eager to help vulnerable young adults and adults to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you.

We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.


You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need.

Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.


Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to record information accurately
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy
  • Basic IT skills
  • Willingness to work towards further qualifications and training as required for the role

Desirable

  • Experience of work within an education/residential or day opportunities setting
  • Driving Licence
