We offer a unique opportunity for an Accounts Assistant within a firm of accountants. You will deal with multiple clients on a daily basis. Clients are across the UK and international. We predominately use Xero with add-ons such as ezzybills.


You must be able to organise and manage your own workload to consistently deliver to deadlines and work to high standards.

Conscientious, with an ability to delve into details to find answers to anomalies.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, methodical and be able to work autonomously once trained. There is an element of lone working.

Role includes:

  • Bank Reconciliations.
  • Bookkeeping.
  • Sales and purchase invoice processing.
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Report financial results on a regular basis to clients.
  • Investigate and report on areas of concern relating to variances in expected sources of income or expenditure.
  • Set up weekly and monthly payment runs.
  • Create and maintain Journals.
  • VAT return preparation and submissions.
  • International clients with multicurrency reconciliations.
  • Reconciliations across multi platforms such as Xero, Pleo, Nest, payroll software.
  • MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables & V-Lookups etc.)
  • Accurate and efficient data entry.
  • As this is a small team there will be other administrative tasks as required. Opportunity for study support if required.

Previous experience within a transactional accounts finance position required.

Previous experience with Xero software would be a bonus.

You must have your own transport as public links are not readily available.

20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays and your birthday off.

Near Ross on Wye, HR9 5. Immediate start. Permanent after successful probation period. 30 hours per week Monday to Friday. Salary based on £ £13.50 ph depending on experience.
