We are looking for people with NHS experience or that have experience working in a UK Healthcare environment.


We are looking to recruit a compassionate and caring Nursing Assistant with a passion to be a key part of the patient care journey here at Leigh Infirmary, early pregnancy unit.

You will work with a team of experienced healthcare professionals and will have opportunity for continuous learning and development.

You will need excellent communication skills and be able to work at pace.

Our staff take great pride in the essential work we do in supporting our patients and their families and we are committed to delivering consistent, high quality, patient focused care.


You will be required to work flexibly across 7 days a week as in some instances you may be required to support with covering our Gynaecology Assessment Clinic based at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary.

You will be required to work across multiple sites as part of this role.


Your role will be to support the Clinicians, nurses and the nurse Specialist in our early pregnancy, menopause and recurrent miscarriage clinics.

You should be able to communicate in a sensitive, compassionate manner with patients, relatives and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, working flexibly.

You will be required to have a keen interest in women's health.

Support individuals who are distressed.

Manage and organise time and activities to support and meet the needs of individuals

To empower patients and their families to make their own decisions about health and choices.


To undertake a range of clinical competencies, for example safe venepuncture and cannulation as requested by the Registered Health Care Professional and have competencies checked annually by a Registered Healthcare Professional.


At the request of the Registered Health Care Professional, perform and record physiological measurements within the remit of the SHCA role and report accurately to the Registered Health Care Professional, the assessment undertaken, on patients.

Obtaining samples at the request of a Registered Health Care Professional, including wound swabs, urine specimens and MRSA swabs.
