We offer part time and full time positions, and the possibility for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Recognise that some children may have special needs.
  • Provide a clean, safe environment for children and infants to play in.
  • Be aware of the importance of outdoor play, nutrition, and rest for children's growth.
  • Adjust your schedule depending on the age and needs of the children in your care.
  • Prepare snacks and bottles for infants.
  • Monitor individual children in your care for health and safety concerns, including hygiene, exercise, sleep pattern, diet, and behaviour.
  • Record children's diaries reflecting their development and weekly observation related to EYFS.
  • Mantain a professional attitude and be passionate about learning and improving practices to the nursery's high standards.
  • Be flexible in terms of duties and working shifts patterns.
  • Be able to keep children safe.
  • Either have experience with the Montessori method or be passionate to learn about it and ready to put it into practice.
  • Capable of drawing weekly learning plans.
  • Proactive, dedicated and excellent in team work.
  • Cooperate with the nursery manager to mantain high quality standards of safety care and education

Education and Training

Valid in UK:

  • BA Degree in Early Years Education, Montessori, Child Development EYE or equivalent.
or

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Early Years Childcare and Education or relevant.
Desiderable

  • Safeguarding children, Working with babies, Food and Hygiene and Paediatric first Aid.

Experience

  • Experience in a nursery setting
  • Experience of working with babies
  • Knowledge of key person systems and record keeping

General and special knowledge

  • Knowledge of the Children Act (2004)/Childcare Act (2006)
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (England)) Framework
  • Knowledge of child development

Skills and abilities

  • Ability to communicate well with adults and children, to promote and explain the nursery's ethos and method to parents
  • To be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to write legibly
  • Good presentation skills
  • Computer literate
  • Good organisational skills and time managment.
  • Demonstrate creative ability.
  • Specialist skills

Any additional factors

  • Understanding of equal opportunities
  • Awareness of health and safety and practical hygiene issues

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary:
£10.00-£12.00 per hour
