A Postdoctoral Research position is available on this CATMAT project in the area of computer modelling and materials design of lithium battery cathodes within the group of Professor Saiful Islam in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford.
The research programme at Oxford will investigate structural, transport, electronic and interface properties of oxide and oxyanion materials for lithium battery cathodes using density functional theory (DFT), potentials-based molecular dynamics, and cluster-expansion techniques.
This work will have strong links to the experimental synthesis, diffraction and electrochemical work performed in the overall project.Previous experience in computational materials science and a track record of peer-reviewed publications are essential.
The position is available immediately and is fixed-term until 31 March 2025 (with the potential to extend until 30 September 2025).
Group website with research details:
This supporting statement (maximum 500 words) should include:
(a) list of simulation codes used
(b) your top three publications
(c) previous experience in battery or energy materials modelling
Interviews are scheduled to take place at the Department of Materials on 23 May 2023 and you must be available on this date, either by Teams, Zoom or in person.
