Cherish Children's Care are looking to expand their team of Support Workers for our home in Ellel, Lancaster. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a growing company that offers full training and management progression.


Specialising in providing support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural issues, Cherish Childrens Care provides residential children's homes across the northwest.

Our therapeutic homes provide our children and young people with a nurturing environment that supports them to safe and cared for.


Our team of Residential Practitioners worker alongside the management team in developing a comprehensive package of support for each young person ensuring that they are able to achieve positive outcomes for themselves.

As a Waking Night Residential Support Practitioner your role will be to help the children and young people settle in the evening, supporting their night time routines as well as getting them up and ready for the day in the morning.


We are looking to recruit Residential Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children.


  • Hold a Level 3 NVQ Children or equivalent (desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • To be selfmotivated and task orientated.
  • Can demonstrate confidence in liaising with Social Workers, Police, LADO and families.
  • The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire the young people in your care.
  • The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behavior effectively and professionally.
  • Shift work including weekends, evenings & sleep in duties.

The key duties of the role are:

  • To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of the home.
  • To provide a caring, supportive, and nurturing environment in which children/young people can feel safe and secure and free from harm. Establishing positive, warm and rewarding relationships with the children/young people.
  • Be responsible for reporting regularly on each young person's daily events at the residential home and always maintain all necessary information confidentially following the quality standards.

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • L3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or above (preferred)
  • Driving Licence (required)
