We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a talented and ambitious post-doctoral research assistant to join our multidisciplinary 3-year collaborative project, funded by the Medical Research Council entitled: "_An integrative transethnic approach to identify novel functional genes in Parkinson's disease using in silico and in vivo experiments_".


Duties and responsibilities:

  • To take initiatives in the planning of research
  • To conduct genetic and genomic data analyses
  • To always ensure the validity and reliability of data
  • To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
  • To present findings to colleagues and at conferences
  • To submit publications to refereed journals

Essential requirements:

Research Associate:Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in genetics, molecular biology, computational biology or a related discipline
-
Research Assistant:Near completion of a PhD (or equivalent) in genetics, molecular biology, computational biology or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in genomic data analysis
  • Practical experience within a research environment and / or publication in relevant and refereed journals
  • Experience of coding bioinformatics pipelines

Further information:

This is a full time and fixed term post for 1 year. You will be based at the Hammersmith Campus (East Acton).
