About the role:


Are you passionate and enthusiastic about supporting children with barriers to learning? Vision For Education have a full-time opportunity for a SEN primary teaching assistant to work in a mainstream school in Burnley.

The role is set to commence ASAP, working full-time (Monday to Friday), term time only between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Currently, the role has no end date in mind. There are opportunities for the role to become permanent with the school after a qualifying period.

Your typical day-to-day duties as a primary teaching assistant at the school will include:

  • Prepare learning materials under teacher supervision
  • Working both in and outside the classroom to support the child in their care
  • Adapting your approach to learning based on the child's needs
  • Look after the child's physical, social, and emotional welfare
  • Creating a stimulating environment for the child you'll be working with
  • Provide the classroom teacher with help and any information that they need
  • Supporting the teacher in keeping pupil records, such as attainment and pupil progress or activities

The school is located in the BB10 area of Burnley and is easily accessible by car and has is own car park for the use of staff.

Driving is not essential for this role, as the school is easily accessible via a bus route if public transport is required.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of SEN Primary Teaching Assistant - Burnley you will:

  • Educated to Level 2 or above in Childcare, Learning and Development (or equivalent).
  • Has had experience working of supporting children in a primary school setting.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of school staff.
  • An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Has had experience working of supporting children in a primary school setting.
