The Risk Model and Regulatory Oversight (RMRO) team is part of the Global Risk Methodology Group (RMG) and responsible for supervising RMG's compliance with all relevant Risk Model policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

RMRO works closely withthe senior management of Nomura, preparing senior management committee pack, regulatory submission and other ad-hoc projects. The RMRO team liaise globally with departments across Risk Management, IT, Finance, GM and Compliance, amongst other areas.

Role Description:

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Co-ordinating and preparing committee materials for senior executives
  • Producing minutes of committees/forums, which are a clear, accurate, transparent and impartial record of meetings
  • Supporting RMG policies and procedures review
  • Tracking Regulatory engagement status
  • Tracking a comprehensive lifecycle of Model Change
  • Supporting processes to ensure that changes to regulatory risk models are fully identified and that regulators are duly notified
  • Supporting Model Developers to prepare Model Change Notification submission to regulators
  • Organising a comprehensive library of Model Change documentation/submission needed to answer routine queries and evidence the performance of robust Model Change management
  • Closely working with Risk Model Developers, Model Owners, Model Validators, Project Managers and IT to track model changes
  • Coordinating upcoming model change review
  • Operating strategic change management project initiatives within RMG

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Essential

  • Several years' work experience (at least 7 years plus) in largescale financial services institutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Project Management experience
  • Experience with managing large and complex projects which consider both technology and business operating model change
  • Planning and Organisational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deadlines


Delivery skills
  • Able to see through projects / tasks through to completion and work through potential obstacles and challenges in front of objectives / goals
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework for universal banking organisations, including Governance, Policies & Procedures, Systems & Data, 3 Lines of Defence, Roles & Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with financial regulations
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Able to work with data sets in Excel and produce good quality visual presentations in PowerPoint
  • Strong SharePoint /workflow tool skills/knowledge
