Full Time, Permanent role
We are looking for someone to supervise and coordinate our small Rendlesham Production Team of experienced operators. Rockford manufacture wiring harnesses to required standards for the defence, automotive and aerospace industries.

Manufacturing or wiring experience would be beneficial but is not essential, however experience of leading or being responsible for a team is required and full training will be given on Rockford systems and processes.


Hours 07.45am - 5.00pm Monday to Thursday

07.45am -12.45pm Friday (1 Friday off every 4 weeks)

Main Responsibilities

  • Assigning and supervising team resources to ensure planned production is fulfilled with the aim of achieving on time delivery of product.
  • Ensure tasks are carried out in accordance with Rockford Components Ltd Quality and Health and Safety Procedures.
  • To interact and communicate with team members/ other departments/ customers/ stakeholders to ensure a professional and consistent environment is developed, maintained and enhanced.
  • Lead by example in terms of time keeping, attendance, quality, productivity, conduct etc.
  • Ensure effective management/prioritizing/coordinating of the teams to meet conflicting demands as they arise.
  • Review upcoming jobs to determine skills required and liaise with the training department to ensure operators and the Lead Operative have the required skills for upcoming work.
  • Provide appropriate direction to all team members and remain accountable for the capability, efficiency and conduct of the team, address and highlight any concerns.
  • Support the development of successful behaviour and skills within the team through constructive and timely feedback, conducting informal meetings/ reviews where necessary, keeping accurate records and escalating when appropriate.
  • Liaising with different departments to chase parts, paperwork etc. and prevent any probable delay.

Experience / Skills / Attributes

  • Experience of supervising, managing, leading or coordinating a team essential
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal essential
  • Ability to use computer software essential
  • Manufacturing or wiring harness experience desirable
  • Ability to ensure team meets internal and external targets essential
  • Ability to work to production plan training will be provided
  • Positive motivation, coaching and development of team members essential
  • Ability to act decisively essential
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential
  • Planning, prioritising, negotiating, and organisational skills essential
  • Ability to motivate coworkers, colleagues and others essential
  • Sound understanding of IPC610/620, ISO9001, AS9100 and Rockford QMS training can be provided
