Job Summary

The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust focuses on training, education, mental health, and Gender services.

The Tavistock and Portman 'Charing Cross' Gender Identity Clinic (GIC) is the largest and oldest of the 7 English GICs, serving adults with gender dysphoria or diversity through a multi-disciplinary team.

Main Duties of the Job

The post involves assisting individuals with gender dysphoria or diversity using psychological principles.

Highly specialist skills are required due to the complexities involved.

The postholder will provide psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation to health professionals.

Research participation and ongoing development are expected.

Qualifications

Essential

Doctorate qualification in Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.Evidence of professional development in the field of gender dysphoria/diversity.Registration on the British Psychological Society's Gender Diversity Specialist Register (GDSR).

Desirable

Doctoral thesis on gender dysphoria/diversity.

Experience

Essential

Significant experience in gender dysphoria/diversity.Experience in psychological assessment and counseling.Knowledge of diversity, sexuality, and ethnicity.Experience in evidence-based psychological frameworks.Supervisory and team-working experience.Engagement with gender diversity communities.

Desirable

Research and clinical governance experience.Publications related to gender dysphoria/diversity.Collaboration with diverse professional groups.Group therapy experience.Training delivery experience.
