Purpose of the Role:
- Will be accountable to the Assistant Director of Transport for providing an effective, comprehensive and integrated traffic and network management service across the borough and to lead on matters related to the movement of people and goods on the highwaynetwork. Provide a coordinated approach to the use of the highway, and the network coordination role, taking the role of Traffic Manager, and will develop and implement programmes that align with the Council's strategic vision to reduce traffic, improveroad safety and air quality, increase active travel (cycling & walking), aid accessibility and enhance roadbased public transport.
Highways & Traffic Group has responsibility for:
- Highways Maintenance
- Structures & Street Lighting
S106/27
- Network management and coordination, streetworks, TMA, NRSWA, licences, etc / Traffic Regulation Orders
- Project management and engineering of the main LIP funded programmes including local safety & 20mph schemes, bus priority, cycling projects, walking, accessibility, etc
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educated to undergraduate degree level (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience
- Experience of dealing with complex construction projects.
