  • Time and a third for weekday hours worked between 8pm - 6am
  • Sleep-in shift allowance

Required to start as soon as possible. Kings Mill School & Residence would like to recruit a Senior Child Care Officer to work 30 hours per week in the residence. Kings Mill Residence cater for children and young people, between the ages of years with a learning disability and seek a person who is committed to this client group.

The successful candidate will lead a team of Care Officers providing care for up to 12 children and young people per evening. You will provide support and guidance to the care team and be enthusiastic in enabling our children and young people achieve their full potential.

You will be approachable, reliable and caring and have a good understanding of current practice, key legislation as well as the social, emotional and psychological development of children and young people. A minimum of two years' experience working with this client group is required.

This role will involve working a range of shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep in duties. The nature of the shift patterns enables a level of flexibility for the employee.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and be competent in writing reports and compiling information.

You will receive an in-depth induction, regular supervision and access to a good range of training opportunities. You will need to take part in physical intervention training and be able to use this in your day-to-day work.
