Hutton Construction Limited is a successful long standing mid-sized regional Construction Company.


An opportunity has arisen in our friendly office team based in Birch, Colchester for a Construction Administrator/Resource Assistant to support our Resource Manager, Contracts Managers and Quantity Surveyors.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team on a full
- time permanent basis, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.15pm. Previous experience an advantage but not essential as full training and support will be provided.

The Role:


Assisting the Resource Manager, Quantity Surveyors and Contracts managers in any administrative tasks, including co-ordinating and maintaining training records, as well as updating the database system by registering and distributing approved drawings and updating records.

Appointed Document Controller for the business.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in administrative tasks of running a large vehicle fleet
  • Arranging training courses for staff and maintaining accurate and up to date records of employee qualifications and accreditations
  • Maintenance of ISO and quality assurance records
  • Help to develop and improve management systems
  • Reception and telephone cover as and when required.
  • Exceptional organisation skills
  • Strong IT (Excel, word, etc), numeracy and literacy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confident telephone manner with excellent customer service skills
  • A cando attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • A methodical approach, taking responsibility for own work, while working as part of a team
