Purpose


The CI Lead role will be accountable for coordinating all CI activities on site that results in improved levels of SQDC performance.


The role will bring a specialist contribution to the Operations Team, and the CI Lead should have a natural ability and passion to drive improvement and to challenge the way things are done.


Key responsibilities

  • Drive process improvement activity, using project management and lean tools.
  • Develop and manage a CI project tracking process.
  • Lead and support CI project manager to completion on time & on budget.
  • Work with production leader to establish/improve process performance measures and data collection techniques
  • Support functional development through improved process capability.
  • Through good process design all activities will be developed to become error proof and inherently safe.
  • Trains and coaches operators and operations leaders on CI tools & concepts
  • Inform, motivate, and inspire the operations team & suppliers to actively engage in the CI process.
  • Work with the operations team to create a CI culture.
  • Work with the Operations team to develop Operations strategy and take responsibility for deployment.
  • Establish process capability, to the required standard of quality and implement KPI's defined to measure process performance.
  • Monitor current state performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports to identify problems & opportunities.
  • Lead problem solving activities, using Lean tools (for example Pareto analysis, Fishbone brainstorming, cause and effect) to identify root cause and drive solution development.
  • Work upstream with Technical and Purchasing to drive improvements in product design and material supply.
  • Attend production meetings, quality meetings, missing components meetings, KPI meeting, project meetings, making suggestions for changes and implement improvements

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Experience of delivering lean projects and improvements in SQDC
  • Formal Lean Training required.
  • IOSH Managing Safety.
  • Quality Systems Auditor
  • Educated to Degree level
