Job summary

As a Senior RehabilitationSupport Worker, you'll be a motivated and caring individual with a passion forsupporting individuals with essential skills for independent living. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you'll work closely with yourcolleagues and the individuals residing with us to deliver person-centred carethrough established approaches and techniques.

Mentoringjunior colleagues and deputising for senior colleagues, this role is pivotal tomaking a difference to the lives of the individuals using the service andsupporting in the advancement of the service.The Springboard Rehabilitation Team is an exciting and engaging place to work,and offers a variety of challenges as well as the satisfaction of supportingindividuals through their mental health rehabilitation journey.

Main duties of the job

Developunderstanding of prescribed methodologies of community rehabilitation andengage individuals with these.Supportindividuals with undertaking practical activities in accordance with theirindividual care plan and needs.You'll possess strong motivational skills, and you'll be able to actively engageand encourage individuals to progress through their rehabilitation journey.You'll be able to work under your own initiative in accordance with theexperience, learning and support that you'll receive.

Deputise for seniorcolleagues, including leading shifts, coaching and mentoring.

Act as 'support lead' for someindividuals within the service, ensuring that they are well supported.

You'll demonstratekindness and care as a matter of course, and you'll conduct yourselfcommensurately with your position as a role model and advocate for ourindividuals. You'll be an effective communicator, ensuring that you alwaysmaintain emphasis on respect, dignity and person-centred care.

Job responsibilities

To deliverprescribed 1:1 and group interventions with care and compassion, this mayinclude but this list is not exhaustive:

Activitiesof daily living

Rest,relaxation and vocation

Reportingon the effects of medication to senior staff

To providedaily updates to senior staff of individuals mood, behaviour, interaction,motivation and mental health so that plans of care can be reviewedaccordingly.

Supportjunior staff to develop skills and experience of working within a mental healthrehabilitation service.

Sensitivelysupport individuals with activities of daily living with the goal to enhancethese essential living skills

To workwithout direct supervision, but with someone available to refer to, as and whenrequired, either on or off site on a regular basis.

Help identifyearly signs of relapse by monitoring the services user progress, level offunctioning and mental state and alert the appropriate staff involved in thepersons care.

To maintaininformative electronic records as required

To undertakesuch other duties as may be determined from time to time within the generalscope of the post.

Beable to work flexibly within the different elements of the rehabilitationpathway when required.

Experience

3 years experience of working with people with mental illness A good practical understanding of the MHA and MCA and the role of a nursing assistant within this

Desirable

A keen interest in mental health as evidenced by reading on the subject An awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace Working knowledge of the benefits and housing systems. Supervision of junior staff
