Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.

At Scottish Water, our people are at the heart of everything we do.

We're passionate about creating a workplace where everyone feels engaged, enabled, and energised to perform at their best. We're on a mission to make work better for everyone through the power of data.

Want to help? We're looking for a People Consultant to join our People Insights Team.

What you'll do:

Employee experience is key to Scottish Water's success—it's how we make sure our people stick around, stay happy, and feel valued. Our People Insights Team provide leaders at all levels with actionable, timely insights about working at Scottish Water, making sure everything we do is assessed through a human lens.

As a People Consultant , you'll work with our data systems – Qualtrics for employee sentiment data and Workday for People data - to gather and analyse insights that will help inform data-driven decision making for our People Plan.

You'll work closely with our stakeholders to scope and design survey-based solutions, analyse the outputs and display these in a way that can be easily interpreted. This will allow them to take forward actions and resolutions that will positively impact the employee experience of their people.

The team are rolling out our new Employee Experience Insights strategy and will be launching our annual survey at the end of August this year. You'll be working with us to make this a success.

What you'll bring:

It almost goes without saying: you're a whiz when it comes to data analysis. You'll be able to extract information from large datasets and multiple sources, using your analytical brain to 'join the dots' and make connections. You'll have great Excel skills. Accuracy and quality are your guiding stars.

And of course, you'll know how to translate your data into clear, insightful reports and dashboards. Producing the right information in the right formats to share with the business.

It'd be great if you've worked with Qualtrics or Workday before, but if not—we'll get you up to speed with all the training you need.

You'll be collaborating with other Scottish Water Insights and Analytics functions and leaders at all levels, so you'll need to be a great communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

What you'll get:

While the work we do is important, we know it's not the only thing that matters. That's why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.

This is a full time (37 hours per week), Monday to Friday. You'll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.

When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.

For your future, there's our pension (the 'know-what-you'll-get-when-you-retire' kind), as well as life assurance.

As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

The not-so-small print:

This role will be a Grade 6. If you're new to Scottish Water, you'll join us on a starting salary of £33,560. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £44,140.

This role is suitable for hybrid working, but you'll need to live within commuting distance of our Glasgow office in Stepps. The team generally get together here once a week.

If you're interested in this role – or know someone else who might be - we'll be accepting applications until midnight on Thursday 27 June 2024 . We'll be interviewing the week beginning Monday 8 July.

A few final things worth knowing...

Research shows that some people avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single criteria. If you're interested in this job, but don't tick all the boxes, apply anyway We hardly ever hire people who can do every part of a job from Day One. Everyone has a learning curve. So don't rule yourself out

Let us know if there are any changes we can make to our recruitment process to help you perform at your best. Lots of our people have disabilities or neurodiverse conditions (including some of our recruiters). We're also aware that some people might be experiencing temporary challenges because of life events, like menopause. We're very used to making adjustments, so please don't be afraid to ask.

As part of our commitment to developing a flourishing Scotland, it's important that all our employees are Scottish taxpayers. If you join us, your home address will need to be in Scotland. If you don't already live here, you'll need to commit to moving here within your first three months.

Finally (finally), candidates who haven't submitted an application in the last 12 months will have their records removed from our recruitment database. You won't need to do anything. Your data will be automatically deleted.

We're here to help. Ask us anything at
