ABOUT SASSY:
Sassy is a global content and communications agency, who work with some of the world's best-known brands, broadcasters, and entertainment studios. Our services include: global media relations and broadcast PR, live broadcasts and streaming, branded content creation, event and sponsorship activation, social media and digital development.
THE ROLE:
Sassy Films is looking for a strong creative Head of Live to lead within its Entertainment sector and join our growing team. You will have the opportunity to produce a wide range of work from live red-carpet action through to branded content, Q&As, TikTok lives - working within an existing dynamic and creative team.
We're looking for a creator of surprising and standout work, experienced in live producing, with excellent creative and original writing skills; a self-starter and collaborator that's ambitious and passionate about their craft and the work they create.
You will be responsible for working across several projects at any one time, so juggling skills are essential, along with a positive personality for client-facing and teamwork.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a dynamic environment in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-value work; using initiative to get results for projects both as part of a team and independently.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible and accountable for managing a wide range of production projects from concept creation (alongside our creative team) through to budgeting, pre-production, production, post and delivery.
- Work closely with all members of the Sassy team to deliver work of the highest standard, on time and within budget.
- Take a proactive approach to job budgeting and margin management, overseeing the fulfilment of commercial targets on projects involving more junior staff and ensuring scope creep is efficiently managed through financial client reconciliations.
- Attend briefing meetings with clients, taking responsibility for action points and the delegation of roles across the production team.
- Oversee the creation of detailed callsheets, risk assessments, method statements, scripts, storyboards, teasers, trailers, GFX and treatments across a variety of Entertainment projects, in order to manage workflow of jobs.
- Continue to develop expertise in filming technique, distribution & live facilities.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, liaising on proposals from the earliest stage of project development and throughout the production process.
- Develop relationships with clients to upsell and promote other Sassy service offerings (e.g. broadcast PR, digital content, brand content, junkets etc) where suitable.
- Manage concepts and pitches for all Sassy work where required.
- Help mentor junior members of the team including delegating actions where required and helping develop their skills.
- Build & increase a roster of contacts including develop relationships with suppliers and implementing savings.
- Take an active role in new business activity for the company by helping develop new product offerings and being proactive in identifying potential clients.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Minimum of 8 years experience in a production environment in a similar role, working across a broad spectrum of clients and projects.
- Experienced in live producing and team leadership, including onsite experience of OB trucks, satellite distribution, multi-platform streaming, various filming techniques, cameras and post-production tools.
- Proven track record in generating, writing and developing creative ideas within the live environment, across a wide spectrum of genres, borne out of client briefs or discussions.
- Ability to work both as part of a team as well as independently, but always with passion and energy.
- Strong communication, organisation, administrative and time management skills, as well as an excellent attention to detail.
- A desire to take ownership and responsibility for Sassy project activity, delivery and the quality of work.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Delivery of high-quality output for our projects and clients.
- Effective management of projects from concept to delivery, in budget and on time.
- Feedback on the handling of projects by senior team members at Sassy.
- Performance to be formally reviewed after three months and then once per year.
