About The Role


As a brand new role, this is a really exciting opportunity to define and implement a communication strategy that will transform the way colleagues interact with each other and key stakeholders.

The Responsibilities

  • Relaunch the Microsoft suite of products into the business, with the aim of achieving an 80% adoption rate
  • Working with the HR team, and wider business, to unlock the potential of the Colleague Hub (Sharepoint) and to make the experience as personalised and as engaging as possible the aim is to get colleagues to visit it every day
  • Audit and review all existing colleague communication within the businesses and work with the Group and divisional teams to enhance and improve communication so it is appropriate, timely and consumable
  • Optimise the channel plan based on the colleague demographic
  • Shape and develop an engaging internal communications strategy and content plan that supports the current business objectives, ensuring all communications represent the company values and aims
  • Be able to produce on brand content to support the plan
  • Develop KPIs to evaluate the success of internal communications, allowing for optimisation, and communicate successes to the business
  • Define and implement processes to ensure that all internal communications are planned, managed and approved by relevant stakeholders, in a timely and professional fashion
  • Act as the strategic partner to senior stakeholders and divisions across the business, working with them to build relationships, share best practise, align key messages, as well as advising and influencing on employee engagement
  • Promote the role within dealerships and divisions, to recruit communication champions and encourage engagement across the business
  • Proofreading and communication approval
  • Own our internal social media channel (Yammer), regularly posting content and encouraging conversations
  • Plan, produce and submit all Group and CarShop award entries, liaising with relevant stakeholders to gather the information and produce supporting documentation, with the aim of winning awards
  • Celebrate differences and help create a diverse and inclusive working environment
  • Managing internal Groupled events that focus on colleague wellbeing and performance
The Requirements

  • Proven experience of implementing, developing and/or managing Microsoft products (Sharepoint, Teams and Yammer)
  • Be able to demonstrate internal communications experience within a large, diverse, global organisation
  • Previous experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships, whilst influencing positive change
  • Be able to prioritise in accordance with the needs of the business and stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge and experience of modern, digital communications techniques
  • A passion for improving colleague experience, and keeping colleagues connected and informed
  • Experience working in a role with a communications component across a range of media, but with digital media an essential focus area
  • You need outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from colleagues
  • You'll be familiar with using and creating content for web platforms and have experience of using content management systems
  • Have experience sourcing or working with external agencies or third parties
  • Ability to travel with work
  • Ability to work effectively under deadline and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Be able to consistently demonstrate attention to detail
The Desirables

  • Previous experience working in retail, automotive or travel industries
  • Previous experience in communications, journalism or public relations
  • A higher education or professional qualification in English language or communications
