If so, join St Giles Trust as a
Caseworker working on our vital SOS project, which works across the country in

areas affected by London gangs and sees our staff work with both victims and perpetrators of serious youth violence and other gang-related offences.

About
St Giles Trust
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need.

Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

St Giles is now a kickstart employer, so we are part of the scheme which provides job opportunities for 16-24 year-olds who are currently on Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

About this key role

You will also promote inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process and develop and maintain relationships with both referral and agencies, ensuring a steady flow of appropriate referrals onto the scheme.

Closing cases efficiently and positively, plus assisting with providing monitoring information and the evaluation of the project, are also key components of this role.

What we are looking for

  • To have worked on an offenderled support project, had personal experience of the criminal justice system, served a prison sentence, or still be serving a prison sentence in a prison within reach of London
  • Experience in negotiation with partner agencies to establish links to further aims of the project
  • Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, for example people who have complex needs
  • Experience in working in local communitybased projects
  • A relevant qualification to a good standard, or be working towards one
  • A sound knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by our client group
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationshipbuilding and communication skills, both verbal and written

In return, you can expect a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, season ticket loan and much more.

Please note St Giles will guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria set out in the Job Description for the vacancy.

As an organisation that works with children and adults at risk we are committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the safety of our clients and successful applicants will be DBS Checked.

**Closing date: 11pm, 24th July 2023.

Interview date: 2nd August 2023
