You must be able to plan your work so that you can meet competing deadlines required of the union by law.

You will not be thrown off course if your priorities have to change during the day.

Your administrative skills will be excellent. You will understand the need to keep accurate records and handle sensitive information. You will have excellent attention to detail.

You will be comfortable learning how to use UNISON's membership system, keeping records, dealing with large volumes of documents, and organising electronic files.

You will be confident in using Microsoft software products especially SharePoint, Excel, Office, and Outlook.

You must be able to communicate clearly by telephone.

In particular you must be confident, calm and professional in dealing with callers who have a complaint and who may be angry or distressed.
