The Assistant Professional Services Officer plays a vital part in our specialist professional services team at UNISON centre. Our team represents members facing allegations before their professional regulator, covering 10 UK-wide regulators and those in the devolved nations.
As a key member of our Professional Services Unit, you will provide advice, guidance, representation, and advocacy throughout fitness to practise proceedings. This makes us a unique trade union to work for.
We are seeking a skilled communicator to join our expanding Professional Services Unit, covering maternity leave. You will have experience in representing and advocating for individuals, with a passion for fairness and supporting UNISON members. You will assist them through a challenging experience, requiring compassion, patience, and the ability to balance advocacy with objective assessment of evidence.
You will have some understanding of health and social care regulators' functions and processes. You will have access to support, professional development, and training to enhance your knowledge. You will be committed to equalities and understand the challenges facing public sector workers, including their working context.
We are currently piloting an interim hybrid working policy across the organisation.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist knowledge and skills in a supportive environment.
