Job summary
The role of the Advanced Clinical
Practitioner is to support inductions, training (to coincide with the
development of the career framework) and develop and manage staff.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner
would be able to manage staff over the East and West midlands contracts.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will provide proactive, professional management and leadership,
support and coaching to the team of clinical practitioners and ensure they are
efficient, providing high quality safe patient care at all times. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Performance Manager will need to ensure that their teams are meeting Key
Performance Indicators (KPI) through proactive and innovative management. The
post holder will be required to represent DHU in a professional manner
internally and externally with key stakeholders and ensure adherence to
contractual requirements.

The
post holder will also be responsible for the autonomous clinical assessment,
treatment and/or referral or giving advice as appropriate to patients across a
wide spectrum of clinical conditions within the NHS 111 service provided by DHU
Health Care CIC through telephone consultations and ensure they remain
competent in patient assessment.

A
commitment to a quality service, excellence in clinical practice and continuous
professional development are integral to the role and the development of the
service.

The
post holder will participate in promoting and advancing DHU Health Care CIC.

Job responsibilities

  • To work in liaison with the senior management team in developing
the Clinical Practitioners role in DHU11- Be responsible for call audits and prescribing audits and liaise
with team members monthly to feedback audits. Learning from trends must be
acted upon for individuals and services.

  • To promote good clinical practice, scope out and implement
training and development opportunities for the Clinical Practitioners.

  • Be responsible for short listing applicants and interviewing
potential Clinical Practitioners.

  • Ensure they are
in contact with new employee team members at earliest opportunity to assist
them with queries and to welcome them to DHU.

  • Be flexible in
attending any DHU site to induct new starters and to train and develop staff.

  • Be able to complete and implement performance development plans
and line manage staff on their KPIs.

  • Contribute
proactively to continuous quality improvement through own practice and through
support to others

  • Hold a monthly
one to one meeting with all team members to discuss areas such as performance,
employee engagement and ideas for service improvement. Increase the frequency
of one to one meetings if/when required.

  • Manage and
ensuring review of objectives is undertaken in an ongoing manner.

  • Assist in the
investigation of complaints and incidents, as and when required.

  • Complete new
team members probationary review in a timely manner ensuring all objectives are
met prior to sign off of probationary period.

  • Instigate and
facilitate reflection and/or debriefing of challenging calls when necessary.

  • Notify the
appropriate Senior Manager immediately of any circumstances which may affect
the provision of a high quality service.

  • Provide
bimonthly team meetings and provide visible and accessible clinical leadership
and empower staff.

  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
