As the Mechanical Site Manager, you will oversee all on-site activities related to the construction of diverse projects, taking charge from pre-mobilisation to commissioning and demobilisation.


Mechanical Site Manager Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the project team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Visit the site and create a site establishment schedule.
  • Support project validation.
  • Implement site safety measures and contribute to the SHEQ plan.
  • Prepare and review method statements and Risk Assessments with sub-contractors.
  • Review construction drawings and provide approval.
  • Aid in establishing installation practices and Quality procedures.

Project work:
  • Identify all variations in coordination with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor.
  • Ensure accurate completion of labor allocation sheets by sub-contractors.
  • Update the master program weekly and share it with the Project Manager.
  • Efficiently supervise sub-contractors to enhance productivity.
  • Coordinate with the client to facilitate building and services alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external supervisors for trade and installation coordination.
  • Address issues promptly and work with the Project Manager to find solutions.

Health & Safety:
  • Conduct toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings.
  • Manage plant logs and ensure weekly safety checks.
  • Verify safe work practices, proper PPE usage, and adherence to method statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policy, including work permits and safety audits.
  • Promote H&S culture and Golden Rules.

Quality Assurance:
  • Plan and coordinate material and plant deliveries.
  • Review drawings alongside inspection testing.
  • Enforce the inspection test plan to achieve ZERO snags.
  • Manage free issue equipment and confirm acceptance for payment.

Handover:
  • Work with the commissioning engineer to test and handover all systems.
  • Ensure all safety devices are functional.
  • Confirm the correctness of final drawings.
  • Coordinate with the PM for site demobilisation.
Requirements of the Mechanical Site Manager:
  • Ideally, hold a recognized pipefitter/plumber apprenticeship or trade certification with at least 5 years of Site Management experience.
  • Experience managing Mechanical design and build projects over £1 million in social housing sectors.
  • Required certifications: SMSTS/CSCS.
  • Strong computer skills.
