Job Description:

About the Role
The role of the Data Centre Support Consultant is to support management of our UK Data Centres. This involves reacting to Moves, Additions & Changes for Infrastructure Builds, Equipment installation.

To maintain & update Data Centre Management Software, Management of Data Centre assets and reporting.

Security Clearance will be required at NPPV and SC level.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management
  • Capacity Management / Forecasting
  • Stock control
  • Access / Delivery Control
  • Management of Hardware Break / Fix contracts
  • Procurement support
  • Structured Cabling Patch management for system installs, migration and relocation projects
  • Change requests administration serving tasks to SLA
  • Hardware Rack and stack management
  • Power management and reporting
  • Environmental Monitoring for Issues, health checks and escalations

Qualifications:

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of Data Centre Hardware Servers, Network devices, Storage, Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure Technologies & Networking Concepts.
  • Knowledge of Structured Cabling technologies Copper, Fibre cabling, termination devices
  • Hardware Technologies Break Fix experience.
  • Experience of working in secure high risk environments.
  • Demonstration of good listening, oral and written communication required.
  • Ability to manage prioritise workload effectively.
  • An ability to assimilate technical details required for project delivery in a short time frame and in pressurised environment.
  • Troubleshooting, ability to diagnose potential issues impacting programme and offer resolution.
  • Change management processes experience
