INTRODUCTION TO WHITEHEAD-ROSS EDUCATION AND CONSULTING
Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting [WREC] is an education and social welfare organisation. Founded in 2012, we deliver a variety of high-quality skills-related programmes and social services provision.


Our programmes include support for unemployed individuals to retrain and secure jobs, vocational training programmes, adult education and social services provision such as support for families who have children with disabilities and parenting support.


With a team of 120 staff, we supported thousands of individuals across our programmes in South Wales, Dorset, Wiltshire, Cornwall, Kent, Hampshire and Sussex.

Our existing clients include local authorities, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Department for Education.


Quality Assurance processes are rigorous and lead to continuous improvement, you will support the Managing Director in supporting our City and Guilds, NCFE, NOCN, Highfield and Agored Cymru approved centres.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for motivating and developing a team of Tutors to ensure learners have a positive learning experience.
  • Responsible for developing a team of Tutors, as part of the Quality Team, to improve the quality of delivery across all learning programmes.
  • Responsible for managing sampling and verification activities to improve the progression and achievement of learners.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all IQA activities continually meet the needs of the learners, and exceed the requirements of Primes, Awarding Organisations, Ofsted, Estyn and Whitehead-Ross Education.
  • Coordinate an ongoing cycle of standardisation meetings for Tutors to ensure best practice is shared across all sectors.
  • Coordinate and manage delivery models and other resources to embed a consistent and standardised approach to delivery.
  • Accountable for ensuring literacy and numeracy are embedded throughout the learning programme.
  • Accountable for ensuing Tutors embed the crosscutting themes of Safeguarding/Prevent, ESDGC, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety/Wellbeing and Wales the Language and Culture.
  • Complete regular sampling of Tutor activity to ensure consistency across the team.
  • Ensure sampling is completed and turned around within the timescales set.
  • Responsible for completing IQA reports, clearly, well written and with sufficient detailed to support and improve performance.
  • Participate in and assist in managing EQA visits to ensure the visit schedule is adhered to, all portfolios requested are presented and meet the standards resulting in a positive visit.
  • Responsible for coordinating, planning and completing IQA observations of Tutors to ensure the IQA strategy is met.
  • Accountable for coaching and developing Tutors ensuring they are outstanding/excellent in their grading.
  • Ensure Tutors are supported, trained and developed with particular focus on those that are unqualified and those that have been graded requires improvement/adequate or below.
  • Ensure all staff are aware of developments in their occupational sector by way of selfstudy and research and CPD logs / records maintained.
  • Support the Quality and Compliance Manager and Senior Management by identifying improvements to the IQA strategy through a process of review to improve delivery and success rates.
  • Aid in the development of new qualifications and gain qualification approval when necessary.
  • Accountable for the development of resources and learning materials to support a wide range of vocational and learning needs.
  • Develop current processes to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of all qualifications to meet KPIs and exceed success rate targets.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, such as safeguarding, equal opportunities, quality, health and safety, and GDPR.
  • Any other reasonable request or duties commensurate to the post.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

  • Assessor and Level 4 TAQA qualification
  • Teaching qualification (i.e. PGCE, Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • English and Mathematics qualification at Level 2 or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience of delivering training and support (including Functional Skills)
  • Experience and a track record of leading a team of IQAs
  • Experience of coordinating EQA visits
  • Been actively involved in an Ofsted/Estyn Inspection
