About the role:


As the Debt Recovery & Prosecutions Unit (DRPU) Officer, you'll be tasked with reconciling monetary value from multiple sources, whilst managing administrative tasks and delivering excellent customer service.


Working closely internal teams, external partners and industry stakeholders, you'll play a pivotal role in accurately documenting, investigating and preparing all reported incidents for appropriate resolution.

Key responsibilities:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

  • Ensure documentation and records are maintained accurately and efficiently within specified timescales.
  • Prepare bespoke statements and recover outstanding witness statements for court team; request reports/identify/match reports with control log. Direct investigation and request additional information as required to prepare court standard files.
  • Attend Courts to give oral evidence and clerical assistance when required
  • Prepare witness statements (general, internal & external)
  • Reviewing of reports submitted by frontline staff and conducting routine investigations into offences committed on the Railway. Read responses to TIRs, take decision on next course of action, send responses to customers;
  • Liaise with Customer Experience Centre in relation to complaints made by customers regarding DRPU function, offering guidance and instruction. Liaise with Revenue Management regarding amendments and additional witness statements
  • Using a range of data from various sources (such as ticketing systems and CCTV) you will investigate, preserve and recover supporting evidence in order to build a successful case;
  • Back office and frontend oversight of the Prosecutions system, dealing with faults and issues as identified
  • General administration as required by DRPU processes, including answering of telephones and processing of payments
  • Filing and archiving as required;
  • Assessing and responding to passenger correspondence, complaints and disputes.

About you:


You will be a results-driven person, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as having outstanding organisation skills.

You'll also be a team player, with a willingness to learn and understand the needs of the business.

We're also looking for the following:

  • IT literacy
  • able to use Microsoft Packages.
  • A good understanding of Railway specific regulations would be desirable.
  • Previous experience of working in a debt recovery environment is desirable.
