Technical Sales Director
Salary: Competitive day rate

Our client is a division of a UK based multi-million turnover organisation who design and manufacture a wide range of top performance, state-of-the-art hardware components for the World's most specialist applications in science, medicine and industry.

The division has identified the requirement for a Technical Sales Director, a new addition to their senior team. The Technical Sales Director will be an ambitious and credible individual with a technical background within a science/engineering discipline.

The post holder will work closely with the MD, working commercially to build the division. Contributing to the strategic business decision making processes, the TSD will provide high level input towards the annual budget.

The successful candidate will have developed their career in the commercial world. They will be responsible for nurturing relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities within the market for new customer relationships, identifying key points of contact and decision makers, establishing long term relationships and ensuring the business is at the forefront when product suppliers are being considered.

Furthermore, the TSD will represent the Company at external events and trade shows internationally, showcasing the capabilities of the Company and of the Group.

KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES

  • Develop relationships with new customers and enhance relationships with existing customers to increase market coverage and share.
  • Contribute to strategic business decision making processes and provide input to development of the annual budget.
  • Deliver excellent presentations to potential customers showcasing the capabilities of the Company and of the Group.
  • Representing the company at international conferences and trade exhibitions.
  • Foster relationships with leading international researchers and institutes to ensure THE Company remain at the forefront of science and technology.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Immersion within the sector, understanding the potential areas for growth and implementing both short term and long-term plans to execute this growth.
  • Raise the profile of the Group and Company's product portfolio; both in the commercial world and within research/education.
  • Strategic commercial input, acting as a main point of reference for the MD when considering the commercial potential for the division.
