Job summary

We are looking for a Risk Assessor to join our Benefit Risk Evaluation teamwithin the Safety and Surveillance group.

This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. This role can only be worked in the UK.

We currently operate in a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable collaboration with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver business. Depending on the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the rest of the time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will require on-site presence more frequently.

Who are we?

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhances the health of millions of people through effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The Benefit Risk Evaluation team monitors the safety of medical products, evaluates new safety signals, and reviews the benefits and risks of medical devices and medicines to develop risk mitigation measures to protect patients and the public.

A risk assessor is needed to assess medicines and devices within the Cardiovascular and Fluid Management team. The role involves assessment of regulatory, scientific, and non-clinical aspects, contributing to Pharmacovigilance activities and ensuring the availability of safe and effective medicines and medical devices to UK patients.

Job description

  • Assessment of safety data, making evidence-based recommendations, preparing and presenting assessments

Person specification

  • Knowledge and experience of regulations applicable to pharmacovigilance
  • Ability to identify key issues and implications, considering stakeholders, and making clear decisions
  • Experience in assessment work and meeting deadlines
  • Ownership and accountability for decisions, willingness to seek help when needed
  • Interpersonal skills for team collaboration

Benefits

Salary of £42,869 with additional contributions towards a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
