The current role involves operating as a Solution Architect within Group IS, with additional responsibilities varying according to project needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in refining business ideas for change projects.
- Provide guidance on suitable technical solutions and suppliers.
- Participate in the RFP process and supplier vetting for new software purchases.
- Collaborate with the IT Business Analysts team to gather requirements.
- Own or contribute to high-level designs based on requirements.
- Create detailed design documents for both in-house and third-party system changes.
- Ensure project delivery aligns with approved designs.
- Collaborate with support and integration teams during project delivery.
- Provide technical input for production system incidents.
- Update Architecture Team artifacts to reflect designs.
- Ensure changes are understood and approved by the business through governance forums.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience as a Solution and/or Technical Architect.
- Experience in delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in SDLC methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
- Experience with RAID processes.
Desirable:
- Prior software developer experience.
- Engagement in technology-led business transformation projects.
- Experience in distribution-center businesses.
