Reed Business Support is proud to be working with a rapidly growing Bakery and Patisserie in their hunt for a Head of Pastry. Based in Sheffield this is a great opportunity for an already established Head of Pastry or a Deputy Head Pastry Chef to step up in to.

About the role:

  • Develop and refine our pastry selection, focusing on high-quality, innovative products Regularly experiment with new recipes and techniques
  • Manage and mentor the pastry team, providing training and guidance to enhance skills and foster a positive work environment
  • Effectively schedule team rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels, considering peak times, events, and staff availability
  • Plan and oversee the procurement of ingredients and supplies, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency by implementing strategies for efficient production planning to minimise waste and optimise resource usage
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Work with management for special events, catering, and strategic planning
  • Implement efficient pastry making systems and processes and continuously seek improvements in operations
  • Proactively handle challenges such as power outages, equipment failures, or other unforeseen issues
  • Gather feedback on products to make informed adjustments, ensuring satisfaction
  • Coordinate with other sections for seamless operations and cross promotional products

  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to the bakery's success and reputation
  • Positive communicator with all levels of the business
  • Proven experience within a senior pastry chef role
  • Willingness to co-operate with others and innovate ideas
