Training Support Administrator


The Scottish Tourist Guides Association (STGA) is the only professional membership body for fully trained and accredited tourist guides in Scotland.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced administrator to work in our office in Stirling. You will provide full administrative support to the training functions of the STGA and supplementary support to member services.


You will be based in our office in Stirling, working as part of a small but busy team and therefore you should be flexible, prepared to work cooperatively with others, and be comfortable with multi-tasking and ad hoc work.

You may be asked to work elsewhere on occasion, for example at the AGM and student/graduate events.


We are seeking someone who is extremely reliable and trustworthy, has excellent interpersonal skills, and has a willingness to learn and adapt.


The post is part-time (21 hours a week) with a degree of flexibility in the days and hours to be worked.


Key function:

To provide the administration services required to support the work of STGA training services

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out administrative work to support the Training Manager and Blue Badge Committee
  • Maintaining and updating student records; setting up members' profile pages on website
  • IT online filing; uploading of materials and videos; scheduling meetings and interviews
  • Updating and maintaining systems associated with training courses
  • Assisting with bookkeeping eg processing invoices and maintaining income/expenses spreadsheets
  • General office duties competence in using Microsoft Office and Google Drive is essential and familiarisation with Google Drive desirable
  • Assisting in maintaining the office as a clean and safe working environment
  • Assisting with member services work at key points in the year.
  • Providing cover for other staff as appropriate

Essential
Education

At least 5 Standard Grades at Credit or National 5s and at least 2 Highers

Experience

At least 3 years in an administrative role

IT

Other technical

Experience of handling invoices and using spreadsheets

Ability to manage own workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines

Ability to engage with a wide range of people
