When they came across a lonely, isolated 16-year-old who called himself a failure, they knew what to do. They worked 1-2-1 to find the thing this boy really loved. YouTube, it turned out. But it's impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment.

And it turned him into what he is today - a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

The Role:

As an Air Quality Engagement Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution. This 18-month contract will see you improve the environment children learn and live in - for years to come.

You don't need to be an air quality expert.

This is more about outreach and delivery:
promoting our £650,000 Schools' Clean Air Fund, recommending solutions that reduce pollution levels, and project managing their delivery.


As well as close work with senior school stakeholders, there'll also be opportunities to work with other community groups and businesses as part of our wider
Air Quality Action Plan.

Plus, the role sits within an Environment team driving policies across climate, energy, waste, biodiversity and greening. So it's a fantastic chance to broaden your knowledge of the field.

About You:

With a degree or equivalent work experience, you'll have spent time on a similarly proactive engagement campaign or activity.

However, it's your ability to influence key figures that will set you apart.

And since you'll manage several school projects at one time, good organisation will be as important as a sharp eye for finances.
