The Role:

  • Create and maintain the pipelines for publishing code to Azure
  • Oversee and coach squads in intra-day deployment mechanisms
  • Drive DevOps principles and culture across London Market squads
  • Coach engineers towards DevOps maturity
  • Supervise vendor DevOps and Infrastructure resources
  • Develop and manage Azure infrastructure across all environments
  • Propose and implement time-saving initiatives
  • Establish monitoring at all levels (infrastructure, app, data)
  • Monitor issues, availability, and ensure correct escalation paths
  • Monitor performance and suggest improvements
  • Implement auto-scaling of resources as needed
  • Collaborate with all London Market Chapters
  • Contribute to cloud services commoditization
  • Identify engineering limits and bottlenecks proactively

Person Specification:

  • Mandatory Skillset:
  • Experience working on solutions in Azure
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Azure Resource Management Templates, and Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Familiarity with Cloud native, microservices, containerized systems, particularly Kubernetes
  • Strong inclination towards continuous improvement and Agile practices
  • Ideally in addition:
  • Hands-on experience in software delivery or build and deployment engineering
  • Proven expertise in IT solutions in regulated markets
  • Up-to-date knowledge of DevOps methodologies, tools, and emerging trends
